We are Pacific & Western Bank of Canada, a Schedule I "branchless" bank with a unique innovative structure that provides clear and tangible benefits to our customers.
We are Innovative.
We developed a strong broker network to efficiently raise deposits nationwide. Our in house Information Technology team developed new technologies to improve the processes of old fashioned banking. Electronic transfers of funds and data move through our system seamlessly, allowing us to instantly process deposits. We are much more efficient than financial institutions using traditional retail branch networks.
We are Competitive.
With no expensive retail branch offices to maintain, we have minimized our overhead costs, allowing us to pay attractive rates to our depositors and price our loans and leases very competitively.
We are Focused.
We specialize in providing innovative financing to niche markets including large corporations and government organizations. We build strong client relationships; our lending products are tailored to ideally suit the needs of selected markets.
We are Efficient.
Our non-interest expenses as a percentage of assets, a recognized measure of efficiency, is approximately one-third of that averaged by the big banks. This represents one of our most powerful competitive advantages.
We are Dynamic.
By continually improving our systems and using strategies to reduce administration, we can operate more efficiently than our peers. Our asset to employee ratio, a recognized measure of productivity, is about four times better than that averaged by other banks.
We are Big... Enough, and Growing.
We are Canada's 9th largest widely-held Schedule I chartered bank. With our powerful efficiency advantages, high quality portfolio and ample capitalization, we can provide better, faster, and cheaper financial solutions for our clients.
We are Experienced.
We started operating in 1980 as Pacific & Western Trust Corporation. We've evolved through strategic changes to become a Schedule 1 Chartered Bank, Pacific & Western Bank of Canada. The bank is a subsidiary of Pacific & Western Credit Corp., a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (PWC).
Our staff has many years of banking experience, each having worked an average of fifteen or more years in the industry.
We have financed projects from the Atlantic to the Pacific for municipalities, universities, schools and hospitals, as well as provincial and territorial governments and agencies of the federal government.
Our principal offices are in London, Ontario and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We're licensed to operate as a bank across Canada and we're a member of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
We are Ready.
Put our knowledge and productivity to work for you.
